Ceresit CT 17 on ette nähtud nii hoonete sise- kui ka välispindade (seinad, põrandad, laed) kruntimiseks, kuhu hiljem kinnitatakse keraamilised plaadid, soojusisolatsiooni- või põrandakattematerjalid, valatakse tasanduskihid või mida tapeeditakse, pahteldatakse ning värvitakse. Kruntimisvahend ei sisalda lahustit. CT 17-ga krunditud aluspinnad (igat liiki krohv, betoon, valatud tsement, köetavad põranda aluskihid) on väiksema imavusega ning see takistab hiljem peale kantavate plaatimissegude, vahekihtide, pahtli- või värvikihtide liiga kiiret kuivamist.
