Solvent-based furniture and terrace oil for outdoor use. Protects wood from moisture and dirt while reducing surface cracking. The type of wood affects the final shade. Weathered and rough wood surfaces absorb oil strongly, resulting in a much darker finish. Always perform a test application before treatment.
Applications: terraces, garden furniture, docks, and piers. Suitable for untreated, heat-treated, pressure-treated, hardwood, previously oiled, and industrially oiled wood.
Coverage: 5–7 m²/l, depending on the porosity of the wood.
Colour: brown.
Application tools: brush, sprayer, or sponge.
Drying time: surface dries within a few hours. The next treatment can be carried out once the surface is dry, depending on weather conditions, after a few hours.
Instructions for Use
Clean wooden surfaces from dust, dirt, and loose particles. Remove loose material from previously oiled surfaces using a scraper and/or steel brush. Wash mouldy wood surfaces with Tikkurila Homeenpoisto solution. If a visible film remains on the surface after washing, remove it before treatment. Allow the surface to dry completely, as damp wood does not absorb oil properly and the oil dries slowly.
Stir Valtti oil thoroughly before and during use. Apply the wood oil evenly using a brush or sponge. Wipe off any excess oil. To avoid overlap marks, treat the entire surface evenly in one operation. Treat outdoor furniture once. Porous wood may require a second treatment. A second coat can be applied once the oil has been absorbed and the surface is dry, depending on weather conditions, after a few hours.
The wood surface becomes darker with each treatment. If a darker surface is not desired, maintenance can be carried out using transparent Valtti Wood Oil. Maintenance oiling should be performed as needed. Wooden surfaces exposed outdoors all year round usually require treatment once a year.
